Once the house of a rich man was infested with rats. The house became like the town Hamelin, there were rats everywhere. They were having a good time. But the members could not enjoy sound sleep. Even the little babies were not free from the attack and biting of the rats. The rats would take away foods, cut cloths and tear holes here and there. All the members were in great trouble. At last the owner of the house hit upon a plan. He knew that rats would run away at the sight of cats. So he brought a cat to kill the rats and therefore to get rid of the rats. The rats came to know the presence of the cat in the house. Their lives were at stake. All the mice sat together in a conference. At last they took a decision that they would tie a bell in the neck of the cat so that they could know the approach of the cat. They raised a hue and cry over the matter because none of the rats agreed to tie a bell in the neck of the cat. They thought that the rat who would go to bell the approach of the cat would lose his life. Finally who would bell the cat remained unsettled. So the mice eventually migrated.

Who will Bell the Cat

Once the house of a rich man was infested with rats. The house became like the town of Hamelin. There were rats everywhere. They were doing a lot of mischiefs there. They enjoyed so much freedom that they started taking away foods, cutting cloths, and making holes here and there. The member of the house could not take a sound sleep at all. Even sometimes, the mice became so aggressive that they started biting the babies.

The master of the house became very annoyed at this and lost his patience. At last, he hit upon a plan. He bought a cat to kill the mice. The cat started killing the mice one by one. As a result, all the mice got frightened and could not move as before. In this situation, they sat in a conference to get rid of the cat. Many proposals were made but none of those were acceptable.

At last, a young mouse rose up and said, “I have a good plan. Let us tie a bell around the neck of the cat. When the cat  will come, we can be able to save ourselves by hearing the sound of the bell.”  All the mice thanked him for his good plan. But an old mouse said, “Certainly the plan is good. But who will tie the bell?” Hearing this all the mice remained silent. So, the conference ended in smoke and eventually, they left the house to save their own lives.

Moral of the story:  We love to give advice but fear to face the situation.

Who'll Bell the Cat

Once there lived a rich man. His house was infested with rats. The house became like the house of Hamelin. There were rats everywhere. They made a hole here and there. Again, they used to tore papers, clothes, etc. They always made noise and the members of the house could not sleep. So one day, the housemaster brought a cat to kill the rats. The cat began to kill the rats everyday. The rats became very afraid of the cat. They were helpless and could not move freely. So, they arranged a meeting. They talked about the problems but could not find out any good solution. They became disappointed.

At last, a little rat stood up and said, “if we tie a bell on the neck of the rat, we would know its presence and save ourselves by running away.” All the rats became very happy. This proposal was warmly accepted and it had been decided to execute the plan. Suddenly, an old and wise rat said, “The idea is very good. But who will bell the cat?” Hearing it, all the rats became silent again.

Moral of the story:  It's easy to give advice but hard to face a tough situation.

Title: Who will Bell the Cat

Once some mice were having a nice time in the house of a rich man. They always roamed about crying and leaping even biting the children. The owner of the house brought a hunter cat to drive all the mice away from the house. The mice fell in great problem. So they sat together at a conference. Most of them present in the private conference argued and planned in various ways. Towards the uncompromised ending of the conference a young rat stood up eagerly and said that a sound bell might be tied around the neck of the cat so that they could be easily warning of the sudden appearance of the cat to escape themselves then and there. All clapped merrily seconding him. But soon after this, an old mouse said," The proposal of the young lad is good and very good, I support. But who will bell the cat"? At this, all were stone still. There was pin-drop silence in the conference. The conference finished with no decision and the mice ultimately migrated to save their own lives.

Moral of the story:  It's easy to get advice but hard to find the right person to face a tough situation.
